Bud tissue from dogwood trees in Hackensack, NJ was collected over two consecutive summers of extreme weather and compared for induced allozyme variations among photosynthetic enzymes. Electrophoretic analysis showed allozyme variations as weather conditions changed from extreme saturation and flooding to extreme drought over the year.

Soft Tissue Testing: Effects of an Alkaline Process for Viral and Microbial Reduction on the Biomechanical Properties of Anterior Tibialis Tendons
The effects of an alkaline soak for tissue sterilization on the viscoelastic and material properties of human anterior tibialis tendons were examined. After mechanical and viscoelastic analysis by the Quasi-Linear Viscoelastic Theory, it was concluded that the treatment did not alter or deteriorate the structural and tensile attributes of the soft tissue. The results of this research serve as a grounds for further soft tissue sterilization testing that will improve the safety of soft tissue allografts.
