Researcher in Networking & Service Quality Management Research (AT&T Labs Research)
AT&T is currently embarking on a transformative initiative towards next generation networks by leveraging virtualization technologies and Software Defined Networking (SDN). This modern architecture will simplify and scale AT&T’s network to help support the continued growth of Internet traffic, enable rapid deployment of advanced cutting-edge features and services, and provide industry leading security and service experience. This initiative opens up exciting opportunities for research in how networks and services of tomorrow should be designed, operated, and managed at planetary scale. Having access to our real-world systems and data of immense scale, and being able to fundamentally impact one of the largest operational networks and millions of consumers offers unique career opportunities.
AT&T Labs Research is looking for passionate and talented researchers to join our team. The team of the Networking and Service Quality Management (SQM) Research organization invents cutting edge technologies that revolutionize how networks and services of tomorrow are designed, operated and managed. We are looking for unique and exceptional individuals who will engage in forward-looking research and who have a passion to drive new and innovative concepts to operational reality.
Our researchers are expected to think big, focus on the future, and conceive, rapidly prototype and explore new ideas and solutions to challenging real-world problems. They are independent thinkers able to lead and drive novel ideas from concept to operational reality. Successful candidates will work closely with fellow researchers, academics, and members of various AT&T business units, and publish high-quality papers at top-tier technical conferences.
Outstanding individuals with a Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or applied sciences are encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in research, strong technical and thought leadership skills, a collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, software and systems expertise, and possess a strong passion to make a difference and impact real world systems. We are seeking candidates with skills across the broad areas of networking and systems including, but not limited to, the following:
Bedminster, NJ (with possible flexibility for Middletown, NJ and New York City locations)
Our recruiting season begins in October and we will begin interviews in January. Applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis, until positions are filled.
Note that candidates' applications and credentials are reviewed throughout the recruiting season. During this time, you may receive an email or phone call from a technical staff member to discuss your application. At that time or at a later date, you may receive an invitation to interview in person. An interview visit is typically one to two days in length. During your visit, you will give a one-hour lecture on your research and meet with technical staff members individually or in small groups.
Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications, not each applicant will be contacted individually.
