Member of the Statistics Research Department

Fellow of the American Statistical Association

Most of my work has been in the area of data visualization, in particular as co-designer of the XGobi and GGobi  data visualization systems. GGobi is the more recent system; its most significant innovation is that it can be embedded in the R statistical software environment, resulting in a seamless partnership between a graphical user interface and a programming language with a command line.

Several applications are described in 'Interactive and Dynamic Graphics for Data Analysis with R and GGobi,' by Cook and Swayne, to be published in July 2007.
Member of the ASA Committee on Minorities in Statistics; chair of the Fellows Committee of the ASA Section on Statistical Graphics.
