Shuai a systems researcher in AT&T Labs Research. His general interests are in the systems and networking area. Currently, he focuses more on understanding and improving app performance (e.g. Web, Video, Voice). In the past, he has also worked on mobile apps, wireless and sensor networks.

While in grad school, he was a member in the Networked Systems Lab, working closely with Ramesh Govindan and William G.J. Halfond. He received his Ph.D. from University of Southern California, M.S. from Singapore-MIT Alliance and B.S. from National University of Singapore, all in Computer Science.
