strlen (String str) yoix.string

Returns the number of characters in string str not including the terminating null character.

 Example:   The program,
import yoix.stdio.*;
import yoix.string.*;

String  str[100] = "hello, world";

printf("strlen=%d, length=%d\n", strlen(str), str@length);
prints
strlen=12, length=100
on standard output, and shows that the strlen built-in and the length attribute can give completely different answers.

 Return:   int
