The Statistics Research group in AT&T Labs invites applications for full time research positions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics (or a related field), and be able to make major, widely-recognized contributions to statistics research: theory, methods, computing, and data analysis. Candidates must demonstrate a potential for excellence in research, a knowledge of fundamental statistical theory, a collaborative spirit, and strong communication skills. Some preference may be given to those with experience in data mining, statistical computing, forecasting, time series, spatial statistics and/or Bayesian analysis. We invite applications from both new and experienced Ph.Ds, and women and underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply. AT&T Companies are Equal Opportunity Employers. All qualified candidates will receive full and fair consideration for employment.

To learn more about the areas of Research that employ research statisticians or about some of the ways in which the analysis of data is central to our purpose, read about the work in the Statistics Research Department and in the Information and Software Systems Lab.

Please apply via the general AT&T Research Career Opportunities page. Note: Only complete applications, with three letters of reference and a Research Statement will be considered.. Applications will be evaluated starting on February 15, 2008 and will continue until we fill the position (existence of this web page implies that the position has not been filled).
